Use lipik.in on your website
We have provided basic building blocks using which you can enable predictive multilingual
input on your website easily. You can also modify the look and feel of lipik components like keyboard and prediction
panel to suit your website style. Also see our example webpage illustrating
the use of lipik.in. Documentation is also available.
Feel free to drop us an email if you have any further questions.
With lipik.in you can create and store richly formatted multilingual documents online,
allowing easy (and secure) access from any computer connected to the internet. Please choose your preferred language from
the list below. If your language is not listed, please email us and we will try our best
to include it.
Please note that transliteration is not automatically enabled for writing documents yet - this is because we are
still experimenting with this technique, and hope to fully incorporate it on our site soon. Your
feedback about this technique will be very useful for us.
Welcome to the transliteration demo
This demonstration combines our language prediction technology with intelligent transliteration to
provide an even easier typing method. We call it transliteration (suggested pronounciation: «light-ration»)
- since we have never liked the 'trans' methods of writing native languages!
We hope it will be useful for our users who are already comfortable with the English keyboard.
New! You can now use lipik.in to type in any web page (e-mail, blog, messages, forms), using the
revolutionary lipik.include!β web-gadget.
Automatically includes lipik.in into any any web page with just one click; nothing to install.
Depending on the language you are typing in, we access the Indic transliteration service provided by either
Google or Quillpad. Both of these are excellent
facilities in their own right, but we are exploring whether our language modelling techniques can make the transliteration process
even easier. We are grateful to both these companies for providing a convenient method to access their technology.
You might notice that lipik.in is a little slower than usual when using transliteration -
this is because we have to constantly fetch information from multiple sources on the Internet. But we hope that the convenience of this
technique is good enough to outweigh the slight decrease in speed.
lipik.in helps you write multilingual documents by anticipating what you want to write.
As you type, suggested words appear on the screen which you can easily select to compose correct sentences.
lipik.in can learn from your style of writing over time and tailor its suggestions.
Note: transliteration refers to the common method of identifying local words by spelling out their pronounciation in English; a little like Gyani Zail Singh's
speech writing, but in reverse.
