Just drag the button below onto your Bookmarks folder, or right-click and save it as a Favourite. That's
all. Nothing to install. Whenever you want to type in your language (for example when writing an
email or filling a form or posting a message), just click the saved bookmark/favourite - a panel will
appear, one more click to confirm & you will have the lipik.in keyboard available for you. Easy!

Drag this button to the links bar, or right-click and add to favourites
- How do I use it?
- Once you have saved the bookmark/favourite, just click it when you want to type in your language. A blue
panel will appear in the top right corner. Select your desired language, and activate the input box that you
want to type into, by clicking it once. Then just click the button on the panel to convert the active input box
to use lipik.in - easy! Alternatively, there is another button on the panel to convert all input boxes on a page
in one go (we strongly recommend that you read the inportant security information on the panel before using it for
the first time).
When you move your mouse over any of the buttons on the panel (before clicking them), the boxes that about to be
converted will be displayed in a bold blue border, so you know which ones are going to be affected. After
conversion the 'lipikized' input boxes will be drawn with a light-yellow background.
In case you want to change the language of an already converted box, just convert it again after setting the desired
language. A green border indicates already converted boxes.
- Will it affect the page I am viewing?
- It is not supposed to. We have tested it on some major sites, and have ensured that the look or the operation
of the site is not changed in any way. But do tell us about it (techie@lipik.in)
if you discover any problems.
- Why does Internet Explorer throw up a warning when saving the button?
- The warning is generic - Internet Explorer shows it whenever you save a non-standard link. The link given above is
perfectly safe. But please feel free to not use it if the the warning worries you - it is not possible to
prove that anything is safe (and the converse also applies - everything is potentially unsafe, so
that warning message is not really giving you any useful information at all!).
- It does not work correctly with some sites. Why is that?
- Some websites modify the standard behaviour of input boxes, in which case this technology may not work correctly.
In most of the problem cases, the user input is taken through formatting-enabled text editors (they all you to enter
bold/italic text etc).
But most sites also provide an alternative option to enter simple text (e.g. GMail has an option to enter plain text).
This will usually work without problems, and you can format it after you have finished writing it.
Also, we recommend using Mozilla Firefox browser for the best experience.
It is free to download and very easy to install.
- How does the technology work?
- Short answer: Magic!
Well, if you really must know: clicking the bookmark executes a script that dynamically loads the lipik.in framework
in the page, and establishes a connection to the prediction server. Does that help?
